Bedtime reading

Post by BigSis on Mon 21 Jul 2008 - 20:07

I think I mentioned a week or so ago, that I am currently reading The Philosophers Stone (1st Harry Potter book) to my eldest her daughter (her request, not me forcing her). She is stillreally enjoying it and we are 4 chapters away from the end of the book.
She can't wait to start The Chamber of Secrets because Dobby is in that one, and she loves Dobby! lol!

Well we have finished out first Harry Potter book. She really enjoyed it and followed the storylines really well.
She wants us to start reading The Chamber of Secrets tomorrow night, but I am trying to persuade her to read The Wizard of Oz or The Secret Garden. She is having none of it, so looks like Harry Potter it will be.

I have finished my book! It was a really easy read so I flew through it!

I really enjoyed it. It's a true story and the follow up to Street Kid, which I havent read but I am going to get it because Nowehere to Run was so good. Its all about this woman's life (Judy Westwater) and its absolutely tragic. She really went through more than anyone ever should. Very good read. Very Happy

I have bene whizzing through my books too. I have read 5 since the schools stopped. I am onto my sixth, called The Other Daughter. Forget who wrote it, but all good so far! She is a bit like Mary Higgins Clark in her writing style.

Edit to add author - Lisa Gardner
