Has anyone seen the programme Summer Heights High? It was on BBC3 but it's now available on BBC iplayer.

Its 8 episodes long and its absolutely hilarious!! I'm on episode 5 just now. It's an Australian series based in a school and focuses on 3 main characters all played by the same guy - a very camp drama teacher, a 13 year old boy with a very bad attitude and a private school girl who is on an exchange programe in the school. Its filmed as though it's a documentary but its not - kind of ...

I watched this movie last night.

I bouhgt the book ages ago and didn't so very well reading it. I found it kind of went on a bit and ended up giving in. I cheated and watched the film instead.

It is so like the book. Describes the relationship of the 3 main characters just as they did in the book. This is the part that I think takes too long.

Anyway,the long and short of it is I am never watching that film again. Meryl Streep was fantastic as the main character, Sophie. However, the ...

I think I mentioned a week or so ago, that I am currently reading The Philosophers Stone (1st Harry Potter book) to my eldest her daughter (her request, not me forcing her). She is stillreally enjoying it and we are 4 chapters away from the end of the book.

She can't wait to start The Chamber of Secrets because Dobby is in that one, and she loves Dobby!

"Son of a Witch" arrived today!

I ordered it form Waterstones online the other day and managed to pay only �5.03 and got free delivery.

If you buy it in store it is �7.99/�8.99 (forget which).

I need to finish the book I am reading at the mo and then I can start it.

Weather is to be nice on Sunday so I plan a day lying in the sun reading it (with my legs tucked safely from harm obviously - don't want to scare the sun away again)

I finished my latest Karin Slaughter book today!

I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I will type carefully.

The ending left me shocked! I couldn't believe it! My eldest daughter was saying "what's wrong?" I said to her, "the ending has really shocked me. Almost as much as when Dumbledore died".

The response which came was:

"Dumbledore dies????"

I had purposely not told her so as not to ruin the books for her when it's her turn to read them! ...

Apparently it has been slated as the worst adaptation!! I haven't saw the film yet, but I have read the Dark Materials trilogy. I will soon let you all know what I think of it when I get round to watching it.

What is the worst adaptation you have ever seen?

Mine has to be Cujo where they changed the entire ending of the film, from what actually happened in the book.

The 90's

This morning one of the music channels was playing all the number ones from the 90's. It was great! I tuned in from 1991 so I was only about 14 at the time.

My daughter really enjoyed it and was amazed I could remember every word to most of the songs (even the Stonk)

She was killing herself laughing when Jason Donovan came on and I revealed he was my major crush as a teenager. You could not see my wallpaper for posters of Jason on my walls. She thought it very amusing!

I started my karin Slaughter book last night, you know the one I have been haroing on about saying I was looking forward to it.

Well I was reading the bit at the back and realised I have already read it. So now I have 2 copies.

I am still reading it anway, as at the moment, I forget what it was about.

How silly am I? I did this recently with a James Herbet book when I ended up about quarter of the way through Creed and realised I had already read that one too.

I was in Waterstones today, and I found Son of a Witch by Gregory maguire (the sequel to Wicked).

It was priced at �7.99 which I had a moan about seeing as it was paperback and knew I woul dget it cheaper online (I likes a bargain).

Anyway, looking for it I did find it cheaper....Waterstones �5.95 with free delivery!!

The Lost Boys, Dirty Dancing of course, Weird Science, The Goonies, Top Gun (fab), Back to the Future, Beetlejuice, Cocktail (loved that film), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The robot one.....Johnny 5 is alive - Short Circuit that was it,

Some of the ones I read aren't weepies, just bring back sad memories for peope (or happy ones too )

The one that I really can't listen to is In the Ghetto. Gets me everytime. Can't listen to it.

I saw little bit of this last night.

This is the reality TV search for the next Nancy and 2 Olivers for the musical Oliver Twist. It was nice to see in the auditions they were singing songs from the show.

I wish they would do this on the actual show itself rather than pop songs sung with a stage voice which does not sound right.

Has anyone saw this before? It is on ITV on a Saturday night. I saw it for the first time last night, and it was really really good. I dare say the format would get a bit boring after wa while (like all quiz shows) but this one is worth watching (in my opinion)

At school, 2 of our classes are going to the local library. There was also vouchers available for a free book or �1 off a book.

Anything that helps kids get into reading is a good thing as far as I am concerned. My daughter's class are also taking in their favourite book. My wee one is taking in Tiddler by Julia Donaldson. We love her books!!
