Pre-Teen Prom

Did anyone watch this last night on BBC1? It was crazy!!!

I couldnt believe the primary schools allowed it to be honest! One of the schools is just round from the school I work in. It was madness!!

Never watched it either. To be honest, I saw it on the schedule and assumed it was another Amercian thing, you know like the one will the beauty pageants for wee tots.

No didn't see it Mags, but it must have been something else if it shocked you young people. We oldies find some of these things appalling (I'm only guessing the content) in their commercialisation of young children! Let them grow up!!!! They're getting no childhood! They're getting pushed, bullied, cajoled into adulthood at pre-double figure ages!!! Grrr! But...perhaps I have guessed the content wrongly?

No, you're right!! It was about so-called "proms" or leavers dances for primary 7's and the extremes they go to! One group of girls turned up in a horse drawn carriage!!!

I have heard of people hiring limo's for the leavers do at Primary school. Luckily in our schoo (or should I now say, the girls school) there isn't that big an emphasis on leaving primary.
